Group Relamping

Group relamping is the backbone of any good lighting maintenance program. During group relamping, all the lamps in a lighting system are changed at the same time. The system may be a large work area in a commercial operation or separated fixtures in the offices of a multistory building. All the lamps in the system- regardless of whether or not they are burned out- are removed and replaced at a predetermined schedule, usually when the lamps have completed between 70% and 80% of their life.

Ensuring that all the lamps in the system remain lit and consistently produce the maximum recommended light level provides a dynamic, modern image of the facility; fewer accidents; lower insurance costs; higher worker productivity; fewer errors; higher worker morale; and the best light level for the lowest lighting bill.
